Do we need to send the Home Guard to rescue you? DO YOU NEED A NOKIA!?" And then unfriended 3 good friends on #facebook for calling me a "traitor" for having *gasp* compassion toward immigrants. Am I dreaming or is this #reality now?

#BlackMetal und #DoomMetal vermisse ich hier auch. Insbesondere hält mich noch bei #Facebook, dass dort viele Bands, Labels und Fans unterwegs sind und man so über neue Alben, Touren und neue Bands erfährt.

Funny thing, when I posted my goodbye message on fb, one of my "friends" commented that she'd always miss my dog pictures. I hadn't logged into the account in almost a decade, much less continued posting dog pics.

I have hoped for my wife to leave #Facebook for some time now (I left years ago).

That article (which is a great read) was followed by her telling me she _deleted her Facebook account_.
You read that right.
I was relieved.
I was ecstatic.
We hugged.
The next step might take some time, but I'm focused on introducing her to my friends here on the #Fediverse!

Contrary to how it seems, #Facebook isn’t automatically adding Trump and Vance to anyone’s follows. (Caveat: Since I don’t work for Facebook, I can’t be 100% sure of this, but from what I’ve seen, I’m at least 80% sure.)

For those freaking out thinking that Facebook is forcing them to follow Trump, etc. That is not what happened.
Short answer, you were following their predecessors. So, when the transition took place the predecessors were archived and followers were transferred to the new accounts. #Facebook
