I am vaguely aware of something called Lemmy, which is similar to Reddit, including the inability to delete posts. Why, I don't know. Anyway, I read that it can interact with Friendica. But I'm confused regarding finding forums, joining them, and posting to them. Usually, I go to a website, enter friendica.world, am taken to my homepage, and then authorise the connection. But this seems different. Can anyone help me? Also, I primarily use Tweesecake, not the main site, so I have no idea what the bit about widgets means.

@TotalSonic That's unfortunate, but there is a different option if you are interested: #friendica . It's a federated social network like Mastodon, that is compatible with ActivityPub, Diaspora and you can connect your profile to your Bluesky account. I never used it but seems very interesting

meine erste Instanz (eigene) war ein #friendica - bis mir dann die Datenbank mit 40 GB um die Ohren geflogen ist und gar nichts mehr ging. Für Masto/Pleroma usw. war ich zu doof zum installieren.

Ah Ok dies ist ein Argument und man ist dann im Zugzwang dies verstehe ich.
Aber unabhängig davon, so weit ich mich an #friendica erinnern kann - konnte man doch hier ziemlich viel "nicht gewünschtes" herausfiltern bzw. gar nicht anzeigen lassen.
Leider nutze ich diese Software aktuell nicht - aber du könntest ja mal im Forum nachfragen, wenn du eine konkrete Möglichkeit suchst. Die helfen da doch immer sehr gut und flott.

So it works for me to follow #Pixelfed accounts from #Friendica. If you copy a Pixelfed post in the search, the user's profile is displayed and you can follow them there.
