After watching the #gmtk2024 game jam video I tried "Plank Town" (https://guyunger.itch.io/plank-town), and I absolutely love it!
It is an actually fun and original take on the Vampire Survivor formula made in #Godot, where you slowly build up a wooden mecha to battle against crabs.
No idea if the author is on Mastodon, but if anyone knows them, pass my congratulations (and the hope to, one day, play this as a fully featured game!) 😃

Ko and suicide rules were. . .really easy to implement?
I'm worried I got them wrong.
Technically my library is not handling ko at all; the game application I'm using to implement it is keeping track of previous board states and not allowing ko moves.
It _is_ checking for suicide, though, and rolling back the change.

Based on the video about making a better jump system, I realized that I could take a similar approach to calculate acceleration and friction setting a velocity and time 🤓
This way instead of trial and error trying to get the perfect acceleration. I set how much time it takes to get to max speed, and how much time to fully stop 🤔
Based on this equation:
a = (v - u)/t
As in this case u is zero, so we get:
a = v / t

Started prototyping my first game in #godot today, just to get familiar with the engine. Managed to get a rudimentary menu and golf ball mover working. Gonna be fun playing around with this in my spare time!

I'd do #webdev (go, elixir, some frontend stuff). I'd play around with #godot. Then use it to browse in off time. My home machine is not portable.
