@athos It helped a lot to have a repair manual. The prior owners of the car threw it in with the sale. The main skill involved was following directions and keeping track of all the screws. 😄😄😄
Just think of it as installing #linux with more oil and coolant.

@freya @BrodieOnLinux lets just say the idea of @OS1337 is to see what is the minimum viable #Linux distro to get essential work done, and to me that means an #SSH #Terminal.
- Needless to say I'd love to target #SPARCv9 but for testing ease I'm focussing on #i486 (#EeePC701) and #arm5r11 (#Pi0W) because these are the ones I have setup ready to roll...
And I have nothing beyond the #Xbox360.
- Basically having some nimble "swiss knife" one can use to recover data or get basic stuff setup, because many old systems are a pain in the ass to setup from a clean slate and/or non-original & specifically modified parts.
Even if it's just a sort-of "#Foreman" image that then just dd a base system image or yeets data from a drive...

My second option in terminal emulators is usually Wezterm, but it's _clearly_ slower, more sluggish than others.
Then there is Alacritty, which _clearly_ is the fastest, but has no features at all, apart from being fast...I need tabs and splits. And I like ligatures, but I could live without them.
Alacritty is good if you use a multiplexer on top of it, but I just can't stand Tmux.
On the other hand, I've been giving Zellij a good spin and it's actually quite good...
