Should we migrate the communication platforms of our projects to Matrix? đłïž
The idea of ââavoiding the vendor lock-in is increasingly widespread. đ
Migrate social networks to the Fediverse, self-host your blog, regain control of your Git repository (e.g., Forjeo) ⊠block foreign social networks đ
I wonder if it's time to migrate to âan open network for secure, decentralized communicationâ đȘ

#Matrix #Element #Specification
@mathinklusion bei der @unifreiburg sicherlich. da gibts #ilias sogar inkl. #matrix ;)
#matrix is currently broken in #nixpkgs because of olm, isn't it? None of the clients (nheko, fluffychat, cinny, kazv, neochat, quaternion) work, at least.
fractal works, but is GNOME, but seems to be the only one that works (and luckily, is written in a compiled language).
Is there a #Matrix Room for discussions about #Linux #Audio specially #pipewire, #jack, #Ardour, #plugins (e.g. Calf), #ubuntu (24) #RaySession etc.
Ăr inne pĂ„ att prova nĂ„got annat system nu, men kanske finns nĂ„gon hĂ€rikring som har rekommendationer kring hur vi borde hantera det hela?
Yes, in tend to prefer #Matrix as well. Especially because of it's decentralized nature. I use it for with some contacts.
Previously, I asked (forced, because I removed WhatsApp) many people to use Signal. Nearly all do now, I do not want to ask them to change again.
Also I agree that the Matrix clients are not as easy to use as Signal.
TIL Network protocols Sans I/O âĄ
â⊠network protocol implementations written in Python that perform no I/O (this means libraries that operate directly on text or bytes; this excludes libraries that just abstract out I/O).â đ€Ż

Element really is bad at communicating, especially to the community, but at least they updated their post: https://element.io/blog/scaling-to-millions-of-users-requires-synapse-pro/#update
