@brigrammer@poa.st

no fucking clue.

I'm using misskey, outta the box. It's got almost no English-language documentation. Takes a little bit of brainpower (and practice) just to run the bash installer.

#Misskey is a #Node #Typescript application, running on port 3000, and uses #postgresql and #redis for data backend. I'm assuming that the redis does fast cacheing of some sort, not sure what all is there. Also has #nginx set up as a #reverseproxy on port 80, even though the the documentation tells us to expose port 3000 to the world.

That's what I did. I'm assuming that most federation would still work even with port 3000 closed, but it's not worth taking the chance.

The entire application is very fast running and very snazzy looking when it's running all on one box with a good deal of hardware available.

I know that misskey works, and it's a good program, but I want it to be slightly budget-optimized and somewhat containerized so that I can tinker with other containerized applications with the
#VPS I already have running.

I'm going to do another #server #migration, and put my dockers on a $5 box. That means my dockers will be a bit less performant next time I see the need to spin up more dockers, for this-or-that experimental project. But at least my #misskey will be closer to the #database, and #S4S will be more performant. Plus I save $5 each month.

Anyone else running a #Sharkey or #Misskey server on docker and having the web-container on restart loop after this log entry?

web_1 | > backend@ check:connect /sharkey/packages/backend
web_1 | > node ./scripts/check_connect.js

Checked redis, the web-container is able to connect to the configured host and port. Database was initially created and is available as well. Mounted volumes have the required read/write access.

Só percebi agora que o Catodon vêm com uma aba para criação de blogs pessoais.

Interessante - Provavelmente é uma função geral do Misskey!

Hey, question for someone that's running #Sharkey (or, well, anyone with some #misskey fork), any way to split the username domain from the actual served domain (aka, vanity domains / URLs)

so, ex, @tek_dmn@tazlabs.dev is served by fedi.tazlabs.dev. Because I doubt it's just proxying across the well-known nodeinfo/webfinger/host-meta
