I've been working on implementing #webauthn for @homeassistant, because I like using hardware security keys. While doing a little poking around the repo looking for the "correct" way to do the frontend components, I found someone had beaten me to it! Unfortunately, the devs closed the pr rather unceremoniously, claiming that passkeys would lead to "more, not less, people getting locked out". When people tried to ask why it was closed, the devs locked the thread.
Honestly, this is the first time I've been disappointed by the HA dev team. Hopefully they'll come around and accept the idea, because "hey let's get modern auth" is a very popular topic on the forums.

Here’s something cool I just discovered about the @Mastodon iOS app: it’s one of only two apps on my iPhone that uses “Private Access” for photo permissions.
The option isn’t even available for the privacy/security-focused apps.

The image below shows a ring oscillator consisting of 7 inverters. The individual inverters are placed automatically and then routed according to the netlist.

GitHub is offering free Teams accounts for verified non-profits. While almost all of @DProofreaders code is open and public, the we have one small private repo that houses some internal-only infra code. With the Teams account we can do branch protection, GH Actions, and better PR review controls on this private repo.
The process for us was super easy and worth checking out if you're a non-profit already using it.
