Staying away from #Threads until you can make Threads-only accounts. I keep making Instagram accounts to use Threads & enable federation, then it gets banned for not using Instagram but using Threads (at least that’s what I’m thinking..) I saw that the team was working on this, so pretty excited!

Tried #threads for the first time in quite a while today, perhaps for first time since release day.. it sucks. Don't get me wrong, has some great features it think mastos could use like being able to comment voice recordings and whatnot, but it's too algorithmy, so much like farming..

🪁I’ve never had a #threads account but recently I’ve closed my 2 #IG accounts, ‘cause their algorithm kept removing my comments because it was labelled as spam but I wasn’t punished for spamming. I was only punished on my personal blog when I commented about LGBT+ topics or flirted with a guy. It’s interesting on my other blog, which was used for academic/ professional reasons I’ve never had a comment removed, even though this could be considered spam.Bye, Meta. 😮💨

TIL there is a cult documentary drama about the effects of nuclear war called #Threads, made in 1984 by Mick Jackson.
I've somehow missed it completely but have a copy of the BBC television documentary series QED titled A Guide To Armageddon. It's by Mick Jackson and details the effects of a nuclear war on a couple in the UK. It's the same topic but covered in 30 minutes and broadcast two years earlier in 1982!
Not sure if I want to watch the extended version.

Actually, its hard to see what fedi has accomplished other than provide Meta with an "interoperable" fig leaf they could use on EU regulators to get #Threads into the EU market.
Our consolation prize is a steadily shrinking user base (if one doesn't count Threads) and a big fat moderation double-standard for corporate instances.
But its great we could raise some money for Kamala.
